ONYX PRISMA 4411

DESCRIPTION

PRISMA 4411 is a maleic acid copolymer formulated in a mixed glycol/aqueous solvent system for application in subsea systems. It is effective against both sulphate and carbonate scale precipitation.

APPLICATION

PRISMA 4411 can be applied by both continuous injection and squeeze treatments. For continuous injection, this may either be done topside, subsea, or downhole capillary strings.

For continuous injection downhole, PRISMA 4411 has been shown to be thermally tolerant to very high temperatures (>180°C) in terms of both performance and stability. It should be injected neat into the flowing stream of produced liquids as far upstream of  the problem-causing area as possible. The product is used typically at a dose rate of 5 to 100 ppm, dependent on the precipitating  ion concentration and conditions typically determined through laboratory testing although given the wide application history for  this product analogous data can give a very good indication as to a typical working minimum inhibitor concentration required to  prevent scale in the field.

For squeeze applications, PRISMA 4411 shows a good adsorption/desorption profile in both limestone and sandstone reservoirs and is readily detectable in oilfield brines.
